We know that getting home after a full day and then rustling up a family dinner can be a difficult task. After all, we’re a family too, with two daughters of our own, so we feel your time-crunched pain. Sure, you could pick up the phone or hit-and-run a drive-thru, but we all know there’s nothing like a hot, wholesome meal made from scratch with tons of TLC to beautifully end the day. This is exactly why we started Familia Fine Foods.

We take the stress out of meal times and put the “ahhh” back on the table. We offer scratch-made, high quality prepared meals using local produce and ingredients.  We deliver them to your door frozen and ready for you to heat and enjoy whenever you’re ready. You decide on what you’re in the mood to eat: our chef-created menu options offer something for every palate – some with a Latin twist, all with Familia flair!

From our familia to yours, we know the importance of having enough time to sit down and enjoy a meal together. It’s just one of the ways we’d like to help families recharge and reconnect while making priceless memories.

The Colombian-born couple hails from the country’s coffee growing region (Quindio), and actually ran their first restaurant as students at their university in Bogota. Through their love of good food – and each other – they were able to create a huge hit on campus. Luis was inspired by his home town comfort cooking, and with Juliana’s constant support, they struck upon a winning formula for staff and students alike. After working in the banking industry in Colombia, they took the plunge as a family and moved to Toronto, once more working in the banking industry.  It wasn’t long before the family decided to take yet another plunge together, this time along an entrepreneurial path, resulting in the creation of Familia Fine Foods.

Luis has been cooking his own meals since he was 8 years old. He augmented his natural abilities and talents by completing the Chef de Cuisine professional diploma at Liaison College in the GTA prior to starting the business. To save time during these busy days, the couple would batch cook and freeze pre-portioned meals so that the family could enjoy a nutritious, hot meal without having to worry about what was for dinner.

This gave them the freedom of having more family time with their two young daughters, as well as the ability to nourish both body and mind. Friends and colleagues always commented on how delicious the couples’ recipes are, and now they’re happy to share their hand-made meals with you!
